Mumbai, April 5: A crucial 67-run partnership between Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed helped Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rajasthan Royals by four wickets in Match 13 of the IPL 2022 at Wankhede Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Karthik (44 not out of 23) and Shahbaz Ahmed (45 out of 26) teamed up with RCB cut to 87/5 in the 13th. Their partnership propelled Royal Challengers to 154/6 as they successfully chased Rajasthan Royal’s 169/3 , buoyed only by a brilliant undefeated 70 from Jos Buttler.
Karthik and Ahmed collected 67 runs from 33 balls to lead RCB to four points for their second win in three matches.
His heroism came after Buttler posted a magnificent unbeaten 70 to propel Rajasthan Royals to under-par 169/3 from 20 overs against a disciplined Royal Challengers Bangalore attack.
Buttler, who scored a century against the Mumbai Indians in their previous match, fired four sixes in the final two overs of innings as he remained undefeated on 70 runs (42 balls, 6×6) and shared two vital partnerships: a game without finishing 83 runs. bracket with Shimron Hetmyer (42 not out – 31 balls, 4×4, 6×2) for the fourth wicket and a 70 runs 0ff 49 deliveries partnership with Devdutt Padikkal (37 – 29 balls, 4×2, 6×2) – which helped Rajasthan Royals establish RCB a target of 170 to chase.
