Queen Elizabeth offered her condolences to Australia’s Governor-General on Tuesday over the devastating floods in Queensland and New South Wales.
“I have been closely following the news of the recent flooding in Queensland and New South Wales and have been saddened to hear of the loss of life and the scale of the devastation,” the Queen said in a statement.
She said: “In the immediate response, the determined spirit and community-mindedness of Australians have once again shone through. My thanks to the emergency services and many volunteers who have tirelessly helped those in need.”
