Prince Harry spoke of his true love and respect for the Queen at a show during the Invictus Games in The Hague, saying the monarch can talk to him “about things she can’t talk to anyone else about.”
The Duke of Sussex, while speaking to NBC’s Today show, says he is unsure if he will attend the Platinum Jubilee due to “security concerns”.
Meghan’s husband made a big statement about the Queen in a new interview, saying “he’s making sure she’s protected.”
Harry also spoke about his happiness at seeing his grandmother again in the interview that aired in the US today. The Sussexes paid the Queen (and Prince Charles) a surprise visit on their way to the Netherlands last week. .
The queen’s grandson revealed the reunion was ‘great’, explaining: ‘It was very nice to see. She is in great shape. She always has a great sense of humor with me. And I’m just making sure that she’s, you know, protected and that she has the right people around her.
Asked by Kotb, the show’s co-host, if he made his grandmother laugh, Harry replied, “Yes, I did,” adding, “Meghan and I both had tea with her, so it was really nice talking to her.” ‘
He adds: ‘We have a really special relationship. We talk about things that she can’t talk to anyone else about. Reflecting on her 96th birthday this week, she also notes, “I think after a certain age you get bored of her birthdays.”
Asked about his arrival at the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, Archie and Lilibet’s father said: “I don’t know yet,” explaining: “There are a lot of things with security issues and everything else.” This is what I’m trying to do, trying to get my kids to meet her.’
The Queen and Prince Charles have yet to meet Harry and Meghan’s little daughter, Lilibet, who was born in California last summer.
