Prince Harry is under fire again after the Duke of Sussex said he will not return to the UK to attend Prince Philip’s memorial service.
According to his spokesman, the Duke hopes to visit the Queen as soon as possible.
Commenting on his decision, royal expert Richard Eden said: “Another sad result of Prince Harry’s refusal to visit his homeland is that he has not seen his mentor and ‘second father’ Mark Dyer, who spent more than six weeks in the hospital fighting cancer.”
He said former Army officer Dyer underwent 14 hours of surgery last week.
The couple’s spokesman did not give any reason for Harry’s decision.
Harry is currently involved in a legal battle with the UK Home Department to seek a review of its decision to allow him to pay for his security during his visits to the UK.
Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are living in California after stepping down from their royal duties.
