Piers Morgan said that six months after Diana’s BBC Panorama interview, he met the princess over lunch and asked her if she had any regrets.
“No. She replied. ‘I don’t regret doing it, putting my side up,'” Morgan said in a Tweet.
She was commenting on a Daily Mail story headlined “‘Crafty’ Princess Diana Didn’t Regret Her Panorama Interview, Says Biographer Tina Brown.”
Sharing the story on Twitter, he said: “True. Diana said that to me over lunch 6 months after the interview aired. ‘Do you regret doing Panorama?’ I asked her. ‘No,’ she replied. ‘I don’t regret it. I wanted to do it, to side with it. So much rubbish has been said and written that it was time people knew the truth.’
