Meghan Markle is reportedly looking for a new home for her animated series Pearl which was canceled by Netflix last week, reported express uk.
According to sources close to the matter, Meghan and Harry are “not giving up” on the show that was supposed to be their first working title with Netflix as part of their multi-million dollar deal with the streaming giant.
speaking to Sun, a source revealed: “There was a huge sense of excitement for Pearl and hope that her journey is not over. They’re not giving up on this project because Netflix said no.”
The source went on to state that the show’s producer, David Furnish, is working with Meghan and “reviewing the project to see where else it might find a home.”
The source also stated, “Obviously, like all these types of projects, the network of commissioners has their input and wishes of what they want to see.”
They went on to explain that the process can be a “complicated balancing act” and especially difficult for “some creatives who hate to stray from their vision.”
The source further commented: “Only time will tell if Meghan and a broadcaster can come to an agreement.”
Another source also chimed in saying that perhaps Harry and Meghan could use their connections and that they may already be in talks with other networks.
The source said: “Apple and Harry already have ties after he appeared in a series about mental health. Disney, whose streaming service Plus is huge, is also in a relationship with Markle after she voiced a wildlife documentary.”
“You can’t underestimate the interest in them from Hollywood and city producers,” the source concluded.
