Mumbai, April 28: Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowling sensation Umran Malik is wowing everyone with his express pace and accuracy at IPL 2022.
Cricket greats like Sunil Gavaskar, Dale Steyn and Ian Bishop are excited to see this closer from Jammu and Kashmir do so well in the tournament, with everyone saying he has a bright future ahead of him.
Now the chief congressional leader and former Finance Minister, P Chidambaram, has lavished praise on Umran Malik and petitioned the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to induct the sensational pacemaker into the national team.
Umran picked a brilliant fife against Gujarat Titans on Wednesday. One of the highlights of the five-wicket course was when he cleaned out Wriddhiman Saha with his 152.8kmph Yorker lightning. Before Saha, he took out Shubman Gill (22) on the fourth ball of the 8 and then, on the next ball, he hit Hardik Pandya in the shoulder with a lightning rebounder. In his second over, Umran Malik again upset Hardik (10) and finally dismissed the Gujarat captain with a short ball.
“Hurricane Umran Malik is laying waste to everything in his path. The pace and aggressiveness is a sight to behold. After today’s performance, there is no doubt that he is the find of this edition of the IPL,” he tweeted. Chidambaram.
“The BCCI should give him an exclusive coach and quickly incorporate him into the team,” he added.
Earlier, another Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor, had also asked to be included in the Indian team.
“We need him in Indian colors ASAP. What a phenomenal talent. Kill him before he burns! Take him to England for the test match on the greentop. He and Bumrah bowling in tandem will terrify the Angrez!” ” she had tweeted.
Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer tweeted: “Umran Malik’s rise and rise is the story of this IPL. Until now, he has been bowling opposition under pressure, but this time it came when GT was wicketless and brought down the top 3”. However, sensational hitting by Rahul Tewatia (40 no out of 21) and Rashid Khan (31 no out of 11) in the slog overs outpaced pacemaker maiden fife Umran Malik (5/25) as Gujarat Titans beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in an exciting IPL 2022 match at Wankhede Stadium, here on Wednesday.
