Mumbai, April 27: Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an IPL 2022 match at Wankhede Stadium, here on Wednesday.
Gujarat, who have only lost one of their seven matches in IPL 2022 so far, did not make any changes to their roster for this match.
“We’re going to bowl first. We’re playing on a new wicket and we’re not sure how the wicket will play. Initially, there might be something for the bowlers. With our batting lineup, we better know exactly how much we’re chasing.” . It gives us more clarity. There are no changes for us. We have seven options in bowling, and if necessary, I will play,” Hardik said in the draw.
On the other hand, Kane Williamson led Hyderabad and made a change to his playing XI as Washington Sundar came back into form in place of Jagadeesha Suchith.
“The surfaces have been pretty good throughout, it’s a good opportunity today. Washington Sundar comes in for Suchith. He’s totally excited to be back and he’s recovered pretty quickly and he’s a great player for our team,” Williamson said.
“Both (Lockie and Umran) are eager to pitch fast and we have reasonable gaps between games, which I think is important and that’s where you look to manage the best you can, but obviously you also take into account the conditions and the timing. that he (Umran) is fit and ready,” he added.
