Ghabrana Nahi Hai is preparing to hit the silver screens this Eid-ul-Fitr.
Ahead of the film’s release, actor Syed Jibran sat down for an exclusive interview with Geo TV as he spoke about the hype and excitement surrounding the project.
At the beginning of the interview, the actor was quick to set the audience’s expectations for the film, stating that the project is the only one of its kind in Pakistan.
The blockbuster also stars Saba Qamar and Zahid Ahmed in the lead roles.
“Working on this film has been without a doubt one of the best experiences of my acting career. Audiences have never seen me like this on television and I can assure you that it will be a great surprise for my fans,” Jibran confessed.
He added, “My character has the sole responsibility of providing entertainment, laughs, comedy and all the elements of fun. It has been a great challenge for me. I wanted my performance to be different this time because of the aura and allure of the silver screens.
Speaking about his experience working with leading lady Saba Qamar, Jibran praised the star’s acting prowess.
“Saba is an international star and has proven time and time again that she can take on any role and do it justice. Also in this film, the character of Saba is very energetic. It is the story of a woman who strives to prove herself and Saba rehearses the role beautifully.
Noting the originality of the plot, Jibran confessed that it was the script that made him instantly say yes to the role.
“The script was fantastic! It was written by Mohsin Ali and co-written by director Sakib Khan himself. It was so beautifully written that I knew letting the film go would be a sin,” he joked. “The basic original idea of the film, the journey of the film is so pure, I was blown away.”
Perhaps the most exciting element of the project for Jibran, however, was the action and dance sequences.
“I studied acting in Mumbai. In 2008, I flew across the border to take a special course to hone my acting and dancing skills. This made me really enjoy the movie,” Jibran admitted.
Reiterating the message of the film, she spoke about the social gender roles and stigmas around women in Pakistan.
“The film is about female empowerment. You can’t ask a woman to walk away from her dreams and ambitions just because of her gender. This is a misconception. Always encourage the women around you and help them break down barriers” , he claimed.
Before officially saying goodbye, the actor promised his fans “healthy” entertainment, stating that the film is the right choice for their Eid celebrations.
“The movie is wholesome entertainment. You would never feel uncomfortable while watching the movie with your family. It is a complete family package. You will enter theaters smiling and leave divided,” said Jibran.
