MUMBAI: Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday issued a clarification after “fake” pictures went viral on social media showing him endorsing a casino.
According to an Indian media report, the images of Tendulkar were used to promote the ‘Big Daddy’ casino, which is located in Goa.
Tendulkar, in a statement on Twitter, asked everyone to remain vigilant for misleading images on social media.
“I have noticed several ads being shown on social media platforms, with a photo being transformed showing me endorsing a casino,” he tweeted.
“I have never endorsed gambling, tobacco or alcohol, directly or indirectly, on an individual basis. It hurts me to see my images being used to mislead people.”
He said that his legal team will take the necessary measures in this regard.
