Bhubaneswar, April 27: Indian Arrows defeated Odisha Police 4-0 at the Capital Ground here and earned their second win of Hero Indian Women’s League 2022 on Wednesday. Apurna Narzary scored a hat-trick for the young side.
The AIFF development side found an early lead in the 13th minute through Apurna Narzary. Captain Amisha Baxla’s tempting cross was deflected by the Odisha Police goalie and the number 12 scored with an easy touch.
Narzary made it 2-0 for Indian Arrows immediately in the 19th minute. Sunita Munda’s shot from the left side of the area hit the crossbar and before the Odisha Police goalkeeper could clear it, the No.12 converted it quickly to the bottom of the net. In the 35th minute, the Indian Arrows took complete charge of the game and made it 3-0.
This time, Munda found the back of the net when she directed Amisha Baxla’s low cross into goal as the ball went over the line. To end the match, Narzary made it 4-0 in the 75th minute and completed his trick with a perfectly tipped goal into the back of the net.
Odisha Police sustained an injury when starting goalkeeper Sanjukta Tirkey was stretchered off during the match. The win, meanwhile, moves the Indian Arrows higher up the points table and could turn into a crucial three points as the campaign continues.
