Three weeks after Johnny Depp’s explosive libel trial against ex-wife Amber Heard and the ex-partner’s private details, including text messages, audio recordings were broadcast in court.
During Wednesday’s trial, the couple’s former talent agent revealed that the Aquaman star asked him to deliver apology notes that he had written to Depp more than a year after their breakup.
In pre-recorded testimony, Christian Carino, a Creative Artists Agency agent who had represented Depp and Heard, detailed that Heard apparently wanted to reconcile with Depp more than a year after their split.
Depp’s legal team read aloud Carino and Heard’s text message conversation in the courtroom, which included Heard’s message about Depp: “I’ve written so many notes. Can you give him one? I don’t know how or why.” where to start. There’s no way to start and all I have to say, but I have so many. I’m finally single, clear in my heart and mind. I just want him to know that I love him and I’m sorry.”
Carino testified that he “believed” Heard was trying to reconcile with Depp at the time. In a text message sent to Carino in September 2017, Heard wrote, “God I miss him,” referring to Depp. Another of hers from June 2018 read: “Sending you a happy birthday text.”
